About

Architecture shapes how we experience our daily lives. The spaces we inhabit affect our mood, our relationships, our sense of well-being. A thoughtfully designed home isn't just shelter—it's a framework for living better.

I approach architecture through the lens of craft. My years as a timber framer, carpenter, and project lead taught me how buildings actually come together—running job sites, raising frames, solving problems in real time. I learned the logic of joinery, the behavior of materials, the rhythm of building.

My formal study at the San Francisco Institute of Architecture, where I earned a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Ecological Design, expanded that foundation. That education took root across different soils—from the shores of Lake Superior to the San Francisco Bay Area, each landscape shaping my understanding of climate and context.

Now based in Madison, Wisconsin, I design homes that respond to the site, the climate, and how you actually live. My focus on Passive House principles, natural materials, and timber framing reflects a commitment to buildings that bridge old wisdom and new science.

I believe a home should feel like it was always meant to be—responsive to its site, shaped by your daily rhythms, and impossible to imagine any other way.

When you work with me, you're working directly with me throughout. I take on a limited number of projects each year—from the intimate ritual of a sauna to the expansive vision of a multigenerational home. What remains constant is collaboration, shaping aspirations into buildable reality and creating documentation that builders trust from foundation to finish.
